Deborah Ray Derrick has been in the Real Estate and Auction business for numerous years and has conducted millions of dollars in successful real estate transactions.  She holds a South Carolina Auctioneers License and a Real Estate Broker’s License in both South Carolina and North Carolina and actively keeps up with current trends affecting the Real Estate Market.

Deborah has earned the Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE) and Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA) designations from the National Auctioneers Association Education Institute and is currently a candidate for the prestigious Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), which is the highest designation that can be earned by an auctioneer.  She is a graduate of the Professional Ringmen’s Institute (PRI) and is an approved instructor by both the SC Real Estate and Auctioneers Commissions.  Her teaching experience includes topics such as Real Estate and Auctioneering Law, Marketing and Bringing the Fields of Real Estate and Auctioneering together.  Deborah utilizes her instructor background and vast experience in real estate auctions to teach and also to give formal presentations and seminars on the real estate auction industry to companies and agencies interested in the industry. 

She is an active member of the National Auctioneers Association, the South Carolina Auctioneers Association where she currently serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer, the National Association of REALTORS® and the Greater Greenville Association of REALTORS® where she currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Auction Committee. 

Deborah is a graduate of the University of West Alabama where she received both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees.  Before entering the Real Estate and Auction industry, Deborah worked in the Student Services Profession at several universities, and much of her work involved public relations and personnel management. She is also a graduate of Southeastern School of Auctioneering, Wyatt School of Real Estate (SC) and J.Y. Monk Institute of Real Estate (NC).  Deborah is also an active member of Seacoast Church-Greenville and enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Scott.

Randy Crowder
Auctioneer, Real Estate Sales Agent

Poinsett Auction & Realty Auctioneer & Real Estate Sales Agent, Randy Crowder, graduated from Southeastern School of Auctioneering and the Wyatt Institute of Real Estate.  Randy has a background not only in real estate and personal property auctions, but in real estate investment and in the automobile industry.  Randy is truly a quality focused auctioneer, who can work a crowd into an exciting frenzy like no other!  His background in property investment gives him a special insight into what real estate investors and homeowners alike are really looking for in a property.     

Stacy Crowder
Auction Coordinator, Director of Marketing

Stacy Crowder is an Officer (Secretary) in Poinsett Auction & Realty, Inc. and is the personal property organizer and manager for all of our on-site and off-site personal property auctions.  But what she REALLY is to us is our personal property eyes, ears, superstar organizer and auction sales guru!  Stacy has managed and owned an antique and collectibles retail store and successfully conducted hundreds of thousands of dollars in on-line auction sales.  Stacy has spent many years researching and following trends in the auction and resale personal property business and she knows her stuff.

Stacy also serves as our Director of Marketing in which she oversees the vast amount of marketing we arrange for each auction.  Every auction house should be so lucky as to have a powerhouse seller and organizer like we have in our Auction Coordinator & Director of Marketing, Stacy Crowder! 

Carol Lynn Vrana
Senior Services Specialist

Carol Lynn Vrana is Poinsett Auction’s Senior Services Specialist, specializing in assisting retirees, senior adults and their families with downsizing and relocation needs utilizing our auction services. Carol Lynn has worked for over twelve years in the Upstate of South Carolina as a senior services marketing and housing professional.

Carol Lynn was formerly the Director of Marketing & Development for the Greenville County Council on Aging.  Prior to that position she worked for eight years in marketing homeownership and community development opportunities for Greenville County, as well as overseeing funding for senior programs.

Carol Lynn’s professional activities currently include serving on the St. Francis Health System LifeWise Senior Program Advisory Council and the Care
Connection Advisory Council.  

Carol Lynn is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Columbia, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities.  Carol Lynn attended the Wyatt School of Real Estate (SC) and holds a SC Real Estate Sales License and a SC Residential Builder’s License.  Carol Lynn can be reached at (864) 787-6973 or at clvrana@poinsettauctions.com.

Poinsett Auction & Realty President, Steve Childers, not only presides over our company, but gets down and works hard to make every auction a successful one, working right in the auction ring!  Steve is a Real Estate Sales Agent and has an entrepreneurial background owning and operating several successful businesses in the Upstate of South Carolina for almost thirty years.  His expertise in the automobile industry and real estate investments are often called upon by our staff.  Steve worked to put together the dynamic team that is Poinsett Auction & Realty, Inc. and strives to make every auction a success from start to finish.

J. Scott Derrick, CES
Auctioneer

J. Scott Derrick grew up around a family of antique collectors, and once thought that he could NEVER stand being around all that "old stuff" all the time. But time changes many things, and now he finds that the auction industry is in his blood and that he loves every minute of it!  Scott previously owned an antique booth and now enjoys serving as both an Auctioneer and Ringman at Poinsett Auctions.  Scott is a real crowd pleaser and his diversified background gives him a real insight into personal property items descriptions and values.  But what we really think is because he likes attending auctions almost as much as calling them, he is our designated certified auction NUT!

Scott holds a South Carolina Auctioneers License.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Furman University (Greenville, SC) and a Master of Education degree in Student Personnel Services from the University of South Carolina. He graduated from the Southeastern School of Auctioneering and earned the Certified Estate Specialist (CES) designation from the National Auctioneers Association Education Institute.
